A message from our founder
ALLEN GILMOUR
I am a Senior Care Advisor with years of experience in Long Term Care. My compassion for seniors dates back 25 years when I began working at Sacred Heart Hospital. It was then that I began to become familiar with what was available to seniors after discharge. I took more of a vested interest than most and chose to visit these communities so that I could learn about the best options available. It was then that I also obtained my Geriatric Mental Health Specialty so that I could provide compassionate guidance to the Patients and Families we served.
My Journey continued when I left Sacred Heart after 13 years and began working for 2 local retirement communities as a Community Liaison and then eventually an Executive Director. I learned about the importance of Community Relation’s and also how to effectively manage the day to day operations of a Retirement Community. I learned many valuable lessons during this time frame. More importantly for you, the vast difference between Communities and what they have to offer.
In 2011, I started a Non Profit called the Senior Action Network of Eastern Washington. The intent of this group was to form a senior resource group that only serve’s senior’s. We have grown to over 100 members and all work in Senior Health Care and or a related Profession. Within this group, we have Elder Care Attorney’s, Financial Advisor’s, Home Health and Home Care workers, Mover’s, Representative’s from Nursing Homes, Assisted Living’s, and Retirement Communities. This group provides the critical connections we need to best serve seniors and families in a time of need.
